This is another watercolor painting in my floral series where I have utilized a dark background. The contrast really seems to make the flower pop off the page. There is even a greater sense of three-dimensionality to the original painting. I let my 5 year old son name the painting and he thought it looked like an exploding lollipop. The original is 10.25"x14.25" in size and is painted on Arches 140# cold-pressed paper with Rublev, Winsor & Newton, and Daniel Smith watercolor paints.
