African Violet Canvas Print

I put this piece together fairly quickly since I wanted to get back to painting after my weekend's house guest departed. I wanted the composition to subtly climb up the paper to help draw the eye toward the african violet flowers. The original is painted with Rublev 18th century reproduction watercolor paint, Daniel Smith watercolor paint, and Winsor & Newton watercolor paint on Arches 140# cold-pressed paper. The interaction between the coarse grained paper and the paints helped create interesting textures in both the background and leaves of the piece.
