Artist's Description
Painted with a combination of 18th century reproduction watercolor paint and Winsor and Newton Permanent Rose on Arches 140# paper, these lilac blossoms have a strange mesmerizing effect. I struggled a bit with this piece and ended up cropping it down so the original is only 5.5” x 6.75” in size. The coarsely grained pigmented paint almost had too much texture to work with for such a delicate subject.
